Kochi: Director Ashiq Abu has resigned from FEFKA (Film Employees Federation of Kerala). This resignation follows Ashiq Abu’s public criticism of FEFKA officials for their silence after the release of the Hema Committee report. His resignation directly responds to his public disagreement with the leadership.
In his resignation letter, Ashiq Abu accuses FEFKA of severe dissatisfaction with their stance and claims that they have taken a commission to intervene in worker issues. He also expresses frustration with the organization’s culpable silence following the Hema Committee report and the disappointing statements released under the guise of a press release. He ends his letter by stating that he is resigning from FEFKA membership due to his strong disagreement and protest against the leadership’s disingenuous stance.
Previously, following the release of the Hemac Commission report, Ashiq Abu had publicly criticized FEFKA General Secretary B. Unnikrishnan’s stance, remarking that FEFKA operates as though it is a single-person organization.
