Dadri ( Haryana): On Saturday, the police reported that two workers suspected of consuming beef were brutally beaten in the Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana. In the incident, Sabir Malik, a resident of West Bengal, died, and another person was seriously injured, according to India Today. Media reports indicate that five members of a cow protection group have been arrested in connection with the case. Senior police officials stated that Sabir Malik was killed on August 27. The arrested include five individuals, among them two minors.
According to the police, Sabir Malik was lured to a shop under the pretense of selling empty plastic bottles and was then beaten. Following intervention by residents, the accused took Malik to another location and continued to beat him, which ultimately led to his death. Malik had been living in a hut near Bandra village and collected waste and empty bottles for livelihood.
The accused—Abhishek, Mohit, Ravinder, Kamaljeet, and Sahil—suspected Malik of having consumed beef. Cases have been filed against the accused under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
When some locals intervened, the accused took Sabir Malik to another location and continued to beat him, leading to his death, the official said. All five accused have been arrested, and two other juveniles have also been apprehended.
