New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced his resignation from the position. He stated that he will resign within two days. Kejriwal made this announcement while addressing AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) workers at the party office. He mentioned that until the elections, another party member will serve as the Chief Minister, and the MLAs will convene to elect a new Chief Minister. Kejriwal also clarified that Manish Sisodia will not become the Chief Minister.
“I will not continue as Chief Minister without the voters’ decision. I have held this position to protect the Constitution. I will visit every household and seek the people’s opinion,” Kejriwal said. This was his first visit to the party headquarters after being released from jail.
The announcement comes just five months before the elections are scheduled to take place. Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal has questioned whether the BJP has the courage to hold the elections in November.
