Thrissur: In Thrissur, the colors spread as the tigers emerged. A festival echoed in the lands of Shaktan’s domain. More than 350 tigers roared around the Swaraj Round in seven groups. With the rhythm of the traditional drums, the tigers marched in formation. Accompanying them were the musicians. This time, the most notable feature was the presence of two groups from the Viyyur region. The procession included young tigers and female tigers. After the Pooram festival, the tiger parade was one of the most eagerly anticipated celebrations for the people of Thrissur.
The flag-off for the tiger parade took place at five in the evening. Seven groups participated in that year’s event. The tiger procession started at 6 in the morning. As female tigers, black tigers, and cubs arrived in vibrant colors, this transformed into yet another grand festival for Thrissur.
