Thiruvananthapuram: Dr. T.M. Thomas Isaac, a member of the CPI(M) Central Committee, has stated that P.V. Anwar MLA is acting as a tool for those who intend to destroy the party and the front, rather than those who genuinely wish to improve them.
Anwar has effectively declared himself out of the left front. His statements raised suspicions about whether any hidden forces are motivating him, and yesterday’s press conference clarified that. The belief that one can join forces with enemies to dismantle the CPI(M) is an illusion. Regardless of Anwar’s calculations, it is certain that they will be incorrect, he mentioned in a Facebook post.

Anwar has effectively declared himself out of the left front. The party and the state government have realized that some of the allegations he raised need to be investigated, as clarified by the party secretary. The government has taken certain actions. However, there remained a doubt: are any hidden forces influencing his statements? Yesterday’s press conference provided an answer. Anwar is acting as a tool for those who intend to destroy the party and the front, not for those who wish to improve them.
CPI(M)’s political stance involves being cautious about the central BJP government, which uses constitutional institutions, the governor, and All India Services for its political and sectarian interests. This means that if anyone raises an allegation, it doesn’t automatically lead to disciplinary action or political opposition.
The former Malappuram SP, who is under scrutiny, has been suspended. The DGP is investigating the allegations against the ADGP. The government has reportedly decided to conduct a more detailed inquiry based on the reports regarding the Pooram celebrations. However, Anwar’s statement yesterday—“This is electoral politics. They applied strategies to win the election and succeeded. One cannot blame them for that”—is an attempt to paint the BJP in a favorable light amidst the controversies surrounding the celebrations.
During the Pooram disturbances, videos have surfaced of Union Minister Suresh Gopi and officials from a campaign company in UP arriving in an ambulance from Seva Bharati. The BJP is a group that does not hesitate to intervene in any temple for their political goals, not just in Sabarimala. Anwar has turned against the government after leaving them unchecked. How unrefined was Anwar’s language in yesterday’s press conference? He adopted the very media language he opposed. He has tarnished the image of the Communist Party and its allies before the enemies in a most disgraceful manner.
As many newspapers have headlined today, Anwar’s true target is the Chief Minister. His stance is that the party is good, but the Chief Minister is bad. This has been Anwar’s actual position since the beginning. He aims to undermine the credibility of both the Chief Minister and the party leadership, thereby weakening the party. This is merely a daydream. We will soon witness how the party stands united against this challenge in Kerala.
Anwar needs to understand one thing: before you become an independent CPI(M) member, the party has a long history in Kerala. There are countless martyrs in this party who have fought and died against the BJP and the police. Anwar may not realize the numerous crises we have overcome to reach this point. That is why you harbor the illusion that you can dismantle the CPI(M) by colluding with enemies. Regardless of Anwar’s calculations, it is certain that they will be wrong.
