Governor Summons Chief Secretary and DGP for Clarification on Chief Minister’s Malappuram Remarks

Date:

Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has summoned the Chief Secretary and the DGP for clarification regarding the controversial remarks made by the Chief Minister about Malappuram. The governor has requested both officials to appear in person for a detailed explanation tomorrow evening. This intervention follows a report in The Hindu newspaper, which stated that gold smuggling, hawala transactions, and anti-national activities are being conducted in Malappuram.

The Chief Minister’s office clarified that the term “anti-national activities” was not specifically mentioned about Malappuram and that the remarks attributed to the Chief Minister were not made by him. However, the governor noted that the Chief Minister had previously made similar remarks at a press conference.

The governor had earlier asked the Chief Minister to clarify who the anti-nationals are and why the term “anti-national activities” was used without proper explanation. The governor’s letter seeks information on when the Chief Minister became aware of the situation and who is behind these activities. The governor has requested a detailed report on the matter and has asked for clarification on what actions have been taken against anti-national elements.
