Kochi: After questioning, Malayalam cinema actress Prayaga Martin was released in connection with the drug case involving gang leader Omprakash. Prayaga stated that she went to the hotel where the drug party was held to meet friends and was unaware of any drug party taking place. She mentioned that she learned about Omprakash after searching for him on Google following the news.
“She is a person who goes to many places. Meeting various people and visiting different locations is part of social life. When you arrive at a place, you cannot ask whether there are criminals or people with criminal backgrounds there, especially when there are about 20 people present,” Prayaga said. She also mentioned that she answered the police’s questions accurately. “It is said that Omprakash was present at the hotel I went to, but I don’t remember seeing him or knowing him. One should respond only to the questions asked by the police,” Prayaga responded.
Meanwhile, actor Srinath Bhasi was questioned by the Kochi Maradu police for four and a half hours regarding the drug case. Reports indicate that Srinath stated he was not previously acquainted with Omprakash. He also mentioned that he arrived at the hotel with Binu Joseph and had financial dealings with him.
Following mentioning her name in the police remand report related to the drug case, actress Prayaga Martine posted an Instagram story. The framed board she shared reads “Hahaha, hihihi, huhuhu…” It is assessed that the actress’s Instagram story mocks the investigation.
The remand report in the drug case involving notorious gang leader Omprakash included the names of both Prayaga and actor Srinath Bhasi. According to police findings, around twenty people, including them, attended the drug party organized by Omprakash. The room was booked under the name Bobby Chalapathi. The court granted bail to the accused, including Omprakash and the main accused Shihas. The court noted that the prosecution failed to prove that the accused had used cocaine and only managed to seize a stash of cocaine.
The police had submitted a request to keep the accused in custody for two more days, which the court rejected, granting bail instead.
After her name was included in the remand report, many users began posting negative comments on Prayaga’s photoshoot images and videos on Instagram. Comments such as “I had doubts when I saw Prayaga’s hair and dressing style,” and “Will you and Bhasi end up in jail?” “It wasn’t just a coincidence that she was acting like a freak,” and “Happy journey to jail” were among the many comments flooding in.
