Palakkad: The campaign for the by-poll in Palakkad will conclude today with large-scale rallies organized by the major candidates. Political parties will conduct roadshows as part of the final push for their campaigns. The campaigning time ends at 6 PM today, marking the conclusion of the 27-day-long electioneering period.
This election is a contest between Rahul Mamkoottathil from the UDF, Dr. P. Sarin, an independent candidate backed by the LDF, and C. Krishna Kumar of the NDA.
UDF, LDF, BJP workers, and others will bring the campaign to an exciting finish. Workers from various groups will reach the stadium stand, which will serve as the culmination point of the rally. The Palakkad Assembly constituency by-poll was postponed to this date due to the Kalpathi Ratholsavam (Temple Chariot Festival). The UDF’s rally will begin from Olavakkod, the LDF’s rally will start from the area near the Victoria College Indoor Stadium, and the NDA candidate’s rally will begin from Melamuri.
Since the start of the campaign, the candidates have been confident, having personally met many voters and assured them of support.
Collector Dr. S. Chithra has urged everyone to adhere to the Model Code of Conduct strictly. During the final 48 hours of campaigning, no illegal gatherings or public meetings are permitted. The use of loudspeakers is prohibited, as is the organization of processions, demonstrations, or any form of publicity that could influence the election outcome, such as bulk SMS, voice messages, films, TV programs, advertisements, musical events, plays, or exit polls.
