Thiruvananthapuram: The colossal MSC vessel, the M/V Claudio Giralt, is arriving at the Vizhinjam International Port. This is the first time such a large cargo ship is docking at a port in the country. The ship measures 399 meters in length and 61 meters in width and can carry 24,116 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units). It is en route from Malaysia to Portugal and will arrive at Vizhinjam within two days. The draft of the ship is 16.7 meters.
Another MSC vessel, the Suvape, will also dock on Wednesday. Port authorities have stated that this will happen after the vessel Kaylee departs.
