Cases Filed Against Actor Maniyanpilla Raju and Edavela Babu Following Actress’s Complaint

Kochi: Cases have been filed against actor Maniyanpilla Raju and former AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) General Secretary Edavela Babu following a complaint by an actress. The Ernakulam North Police have filed a case against Edavela Babu, while the Fort Kochi Police have filed a case against Maniyanpilla Raju. The complaint alleges that Edavela Babu committed sexual misconduct under the pretense of granting AMMA membership. Both Maniyanpilla Raju and Edavela Babu face charges including sexual assault.

The police have also filed cases against Congress leader Adv. V.S. Chandrashekharan, Production Executive Vichu, and Production Controller Noble in response to the actress’s allegations. The Nedumbassery Police are handling the case against Production Executive Vichu.

Additionally, a case has been filed against actor and MLA Mukesh following the actress’s complaint of sexual harassment. The Maradu Police have filed charges under non-bailable sections of the law. The complaint alleges that Mukesh committed sexual misconduct.

In another development, the Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment Police have filed a case against actor Jayasurya. The case is based on the actress’s complaint of sexual misconduct, with charges filed under non-bailable sections. The charges include IPC Sections 354, 354A, and 509, which cover sexual harassment and insult to the dignity of women.
