Kochi: Oviya Nelson, popularly known as Oviya Helen, is currently the center of discussions on social media due to a leaked video controversy. A prominent figure in Tamil cinema, Oviya hails from Thrissur, Kerala. She made her film debut with the movie “Kangaru” and gained significant attention through her participation in the Bigg Boss reality show.
Recently, there were reports of a private video of the actress being leaked, which spread across multiple platforms. Following this, many users began trolling Oviya and posting derogatory comments. In response to one such post, the actress herself gave a witty reply. When an Instagram user commented that they wanted a longer video next time, she humorously responded, “Next time, maybe, bro.”
The video went viral under the hashtag ‘Oviya Leaked’ on X (formerly Twitter). Following the release of the video, Oviya faced a wave of online harassment. In recent times, there have been numerous incidents of deepfake and AI technology being used to create fake videos of actresses that have gone viral. However, Oviya has been responding to the derogatory comments and trolling with a sense of humor.
Some on social media claim that the leaked video is indeed hers, pointing out that the tattoo on the woman’s hand in the video matches Oviya’s. However, others argue that it is a deepfake video. Alongside the leaked video, intimate scenes from Oviya’s movie “90 Ml” have also been circulating.
In response to the incident, Oviya has filed a complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner regarding the spread of the fake video featuring her private moments. Her manager stated that this is a deliberately created fake video aimed at maliciously defaming Oviya.
Apart from the 2007 film “Kangaru,” Oviya has also acted in Malayalam movies such as “Manushya Mrugam” and “Puthiya Mukham.”
