Casting Director Accuses Actor Mukesh of Sexual Misconduct; Mukesh Denies Allegations

Date:

Kochi: A female casting director has made serious allegations against actor and MLA Mukesh. The woman has revealed that Mukesh repeatedly called her into his room. In 2018, the casting director had previously raised a #MeToo allegation against Mukesh. The new accusations come in the context of several revelations about prominent figures in Malayalam cinema following the Hema Committee report. The casting director, who is also a busy professional in Bollywood, had earlier raised the #MeToo allegation against Mukesh while she was directing the television program Koodishwaran. Mukesh has denied the allegations, claiming that the person being accused is not him. The casting director has now renewed her allegations by sharing a picture of Mukesh along with her claims.

Mukesh Denies Allegations

Mukesh has responded by stating that he has never even met the woman who made the allegations. He claims that there is a conspiracy behind the accusations. “When a similar allegation was made six years ago, it led to the nomination of an opposition candidate here. I do not know the woman at all. I have not even seen her. I had already responded to this matter back in 2018. This is a targeted allegation,” Mukesh said.

Meanwhile, director Ranjith resigned from his position as Chairman of the Chalachitra Academy following controversies related to sexual harassment. Ranjith’s resignation came on Sunday morning at around 9:30 AM, two days after Bengali actress Sreelekha Mitra made sexual harassment allegations against him. Following serious sexual allegations, actor Siddique also resigned from his position as General Secretary of the AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists).
