Washington: Donald Trump has been elected as the 47th President of the United States. With additional seats secured in Wisconsin, Trump surpassed the necessary 270 Electoral College votes, reaching the magic number for victory. Trump becomes the second person in U.S. history to serve two non-consecutive terms as President. Senator J.D. Vance will serve as the 50th Vice President of the United States.
Trump has secured 267 Electoral College votes out of 538. With the 10 additional seats leading in Wisconsin, he reached a total of 277. In addition to the Electoral College votes, Trump has also won the popular vote and the Senate, securing his return to power.
Earlier, in 2016, Trump became the first citizen to win the presidency through the Electoral College vote. After completing his first term, he faced incumbent President Joe Biden in the 2020 election, in which he was defeated.
