Kochi: SNDP General Secretary Vellappally Nateshan stated that there is no need for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to change his style of functioning and that the LDF government has a strong chance of coming to power for a third term. Nateshan emphasized that Pinarayi’s style did not impact LDF votes in the Lok Sabha elections. He noted that the decisive factor in Suresh Gopi’s victory in Thrissur was the votes from the Christian community.
He clarified that he is not anti-Muslim, despite some attempts to portray him as such, and that he does not work as a pawn for any party.
Nateshan warned that if the left front attempts to destroy the SNDP, it will face severe consequences. He asserted that the SNDP is still under the control of the left front and that it was the left’s failure to act appropriately that led to their loss.
He also mentioned that the triangular contest politically benefits the left front. Nateshan criticized the CPM for calling meetings of SNDP yogam members as a foolish move and reiterated that the left’s failure is due to their shortcomings.
