Shirur (Karnataka): Arrangements are underway to bring back the body of Arjun, a native of Kannadikode, Kozhikode. The body will be handed over to the family either this evening or tomorrow after the results of the DNA test are received. A DNA sample has been collected, specifically a part of the bone, and it has been sent to the Mangaluru FSL lab. Arjun’s body is currently at the Karwar hospital. The family had requested a DNA test. Meanwhile, the Kerala government will take responsibility for bringing Arjun’s body back home, covering all associated costs. It has been 72 days since Arjun’s body and the truck were recovered from the Gangavali River. Arjun went missing after a landslide occurred on the Mangaluru-Goa route on July 16.
The truck that Arjun was driving will be fully removed from the river today. The mission was brought to a halt yesterday due to a malfunction with the crane. Further inspections of the truck will take place today. Authorities have stated that the search for missing Karnataka residents Lokesh and Jagannathan will continue
