Lucknow: An HDFC Bank employee collapsed and died in Lucknow. Sadaf Fatima (43), who worked as an Additional Deputy Vice President at the HDFC Bank branch in Gomti Nagar, passed away. Allegations have emerged that work-related stress was the cause of her death. Colleagues reported that she collapsed while sitting in her office chair. She was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.
In the incident, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav blamed the BJP, stating, “Due to the BJP government’s faulty economic policies, companies’ businesses have declined. To grow their businesses, they make some people work longer hours. Just like the statements from BJP leaders that mentally drain the public, the BJP government is also responsible for such deaths.” He demanded that both companies and the government take necessary actions to address this issue.
Recently, the death of Ann Sebastian (26), who worked as a chartered accountant in Pune, due to work pressure also made headlines. The central government announced an investigation into Ann’s death. Ann Sebastian, a native of Kochi, collapsed and died at her residence in Pune on July 20, just before completing four months at her job with Ernst & Young (EY). Her family has alleged that her death was due to excessive work pressure.
