PM Modi Pledges Developed India by 2047 in Independence Day Address

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the country aims to achieve developed status by 2047. After hoisting the national flag at the Red Fort on the 77th Independence Day, he addressed the nation. He emphasized that a developed India is not a distant dream. India is set to become the third-largest economic power. He noted that achieving the goal of a developed India will require the efforts of many people, and he encouraged every citizen’s dreams to be reflected in this achievement.

The Prime Minister also expressed sorrow for those who have lost their lives in natural disasters, affirming that the nation stands with their families. His speech began by recalling the sacrifices of freedom fighters. He highlighted that the struggle against colonial rule was long and arduous, and paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country. The Prime Minister hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort at 7:30 a.m. and arrived there after offering floral tributes at Raj Ghat.

The country is under stringent security measures in connection with the Independence Day celebrations. Around 6,000 people, including Olympic medalists and farmers, have arrived at the Red Fort. In the wake of recent terrorist attacks in Jammu, security along the borders has also been tightened. This year’s Independence Day celebrations are marked by a strong emphasis on the slogan “Developed India.
