New Delhi: Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi was in arms and first to the ruling BJP in the Lok Sabha on July 1, saying, engaged in “violence and hate” round the clock, they claim themselves Hindus, drawing massive protests from the members of the treasury benches, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserting that an inclusive criticism against the entire Hindu society being belligerent is a serious matter.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), or Mr. Modi are not the entire Hindu society, Mr.Gandhi retaliated in the same tone of protest.
Credentially, the Congress leader held up a picture of Lord Shiva and said the message about fearlessness and non-violence was his motto, citing the teachings of other religions to make his point clear.
Regardless of religious fiefdoms, all teachings of great men upheld non-violence and fearlessness, those who verbally say themselves Hindus only talk about violence, hatred, and falsehood…. Aap Hindu ho hi nahi (You are not Hindus),” he said.
Seeking an apology from the leader of the opposition to the House and the country for his, hurting the feelings of crores of people who take pride in identifying themselves as Hindus, Home Minister Amitshaw tried to put down Rahul Gandhi.
In support of his attempt, Mr. Shah spoke of the Emergency and 1984 anti-Sikhs riots to hit back at Mr. Gandhi, saying he had no right to talk about non-violence when the Congress had spearheaded “terror” in the country.
Being stable still, Mr. Gandhi further emphasized his point saying that all religions talk about courage, citing Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism to underline the importance of fearlessness.
He accused the BJP of ransacking the Constitution and distorting the fundamental idea of India, noting that millions of people have ignored the ideas proposed by the ruling party.
“I was attacked on the orders of Prime Minister Modi. There were 20-plus cases (against me), (my) house was taken away, 55 hours of interrogation by the ED,” Mr. Gandhi said.
Keeping aside all these challenges, he said he feels proud of the collective effort from the people, to protect the Constitution. “It is an irony that BJP people are now repeating ‘Jai Samvidhan’ after me,” he said. Mr. Gandhi also expressed his contentment at being in the Opposition.
“I am happy and proud to be in the Opposition. For us, we value something more than power, it is the truth,” he said
