Initially, the Congress took the lead, but within an hour, the BJP caught up and has since shown a steady rise in its lead. Currently, the BJP is ahead in 51 seats, while the Congress is leading in 34 seats.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference-Congress alliance is well ahead, leading in 52 seats. The BJP is only leading in 24 seats. Both states have 90 assembly seats each. Voter turnout was recorded at 67.90% in Haryana and 63.45% in the three-phase Jammu and Kashmir elections. The BJP is hopeful of achieving a hat-trick victory in Haryana, while it also anticipates a good performance in the lower regions. Meanwhile, the India alliance has expressed optimistic expectations according to exit polls.

The exit poll results predict a strong showing for the National Conference-Congress alliance in Jammu and Kashmir. If there is a chance for a government formation, the position of independents and the special powers of the Lieutenant Governor to nominate five members will be crucial in determining who comes to power.
