By-elections Begin in Wayanad and Chelakkara Constituencies

Wayanad/Chelakkara: Polling has begun in the Wayanad and Chelakkara constituencies, where by-elections are being held. Voting started at 7 AM, and long lines have already begun to appear at the polling booths. The contest in Wayanad has gained national attention with the arrival of Priyanka Gandhi. A total of 16 candidates are vying for votes in Wayanad. There are 14.71 lakh eligible voters across seven legislative assembly constituencies. Special arrangements have been made for voters from areas affected by the landslide disaster, with three dedicated booths set up for them. Free transport services have been provided for those staying in rehabilitation centers to reach the polling stations. In the Chelakkara constituency, where by-elections are also taking place, six candidates are seeking the people’s mandate.
