Central Schemes are people’s rights: Union Minister of State George Kurian

Angamaly ( Kerala ): Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Shri George Kurian said that the various schemes implemented by the Central Government are the right of every citizen of the country and should not be seen as a bounty. He also opined that India has become the fifth economic power in the world today as a result of the cooperation between various rulers and public in the country post-independence. He added that all the citizens of the country should participate in the mission of making India a developed nation by 2047.The Union Minister  was speaking after  inaugurating a five-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme organized by the Central Bureau of Communication, Ernakulam Field Office about various Central Government schemes in Angamaly.

Angamaly Municipal Chairman Mathew Thomas presided over the function and MP Benny Behanan was the Chief Guest.  Central Bureau of Communication Kerala – Lakshadweep Additional Director General Shri V. Palanichamy delivered the keynote address. CBC. Kerala Lakshadweep Regional Director Parvathy V, CBC Ernakulam Field Publicity Officer Abdu Manaf, ICDS Ernakulam District Program Officer Sudha and others also spoke.

Later on, member of the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Adv. Surya took a session on the rights and obligations of consumers. Junior Health Inspector of Kandanassery, Binju Jacob conducted a session on ‘Clean India and Fit India’. A special photo exhibition on the 25th anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas, a photo exhibition on various central schemes, an exhibition on India’s space achievements, etc. have been arranged  as part of the programme. On November 11 and 12, National Ayush Mission is organizing a free Homeo Medical Camp and on November 13 and 14, a free Ayurvedic Medical Camp as well.

Aadhaar camp of the postal department will be held till November 14. As a part of the event, awareness classes and art programs will be held on various subjects. The exhibition and awareness program will be held till November 15. Entry to the event is free.
