Kannur: The family of ADM Naveen Babu has filed a complaint against Kannur District Panchayat President P.P. Divya. Naveen Babu’s brother, Praveen Babu, has lodged the complaint with the police. The complaint has been submitted to the Kannur City Police, the Kannur SP, and the DGP, with the family demanding clarification regarding the mysterious circumstances surrounding Naveen Babu’s death.
Praveen Babu has alleged that P.P. Divya threatened ADM Naveen Babu and has called for charges of abetment to suicide against the District Panchayat President. The family has also requested an investigation into the involvement of Divya and Prashanth, who applied for a petrol pump, in ADM’s death. Praveen Babu, who is also a lawyer, claims that there is prima facie evidence against Divya for filing a case.
Naveen Babu’s funeral will take place tomorrow. Following a post-mortem at Pariyaram Medical College, his body was handed over to relatives at 12:30 AM last night. The body will be kept in a mortuary until it is transported to Pathanamthitta this afternoon, where it will be available for public viewing at the collectorate before the burial at the family home.
Earlier, the body was handed over to the relatives in the presence of the collectors from Kasargod and Kannur. CPM Kannur District Secretary M.V. Jayarajan, CPM State Committee member T.V. Rajesh, and RSS leader Valsan Thilankeri were present to pay their last respects. M.V. Jayarajan and T.V. Rajesh will accompany the body to Pathanamthitta.
