Kannur: A fourteen-year-old boy was found hanging in female attire at his residence in Dharmadam, Kannur district, Kerala, on Saturday. Identified as Muhammed Athil, son of Liyaqat-Shahara couple and resident of Ozhayil Bhagam, the boy was wearing a midiskirt and top when his body was discovered. Initial evidence suggests that the boy committed suicide, according to police personnel.
The incident occurred while his mother was outside, and he was later found hanging in the bedroom. Earlier, he had informed his grandmother that he was going upstairs to take a bath. The police have shifted the body to the general hospital mortuary for postmortem examination and have launched an investigation to determine the cause of death.
