Government Orders Vigilance Investigation Against ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar

Date:

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has ordered a vigilance investigation against ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar, who is responsible for law and order, following a recommendation from the Director General of Police, Sheikh Darvesh Sahib. A vigilance inquiry will also be conducted regarding allegations against former Pathanamthitta SP Sujith Das. The members of the investigation team will be decided tomorrow. Given the vigilance inquiry, Ajith Kumar will not be able to continue in his role overseeing law and order.

The allegations against Ajith Kumar include claims made by P.V. Anvar that a tree was cut down from police quarters in Malappuram and given to him, along with accusations of accumulating wealth through family connections, gold smuggling, and constructing a house in Kavadiyar. A vigilance inquiry has been requested against the ADGP regarding these allegations, marking it as another investigation at the DG level that Ajith Kumar will have to face. Other allegations are being investigated by a team led by Sheikh Darvesh Sahib.

The scope of the vigilance investigation against the ADGP includes matters related to illegal wealth accumulation and building construction. There will also be an inquiry against suspended former SP Sujith Das of Malappuram. The investigation team will be finalized on Friday.
