Thiruvananthapuram: The weather body issued a red alert for Monday in Malappuram, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts. A red alert indicates a prediction of very heavy to extremely heavy rain of over 20 cm in 24 hours.
A holiday for all educational institutions on July 15, Monday, in view of the heavy incessant rain, has been declared by the district collectors of Kannoor, Kozhikode,Thrissur, Malappuram and Ernakulam.Kasaragod, schools. Anganwadis too, will be closed while classes will be held only for colleges.
