Thiruvananthapuram: There are indications that a ministerial change may occur within the NCP (Nationalist Congress Party). Reports suggest that AK Saseendran might be removed from his ministerial position. There is speculation that Thomas K. Thomas, the MLA from Kuttanadu, could be appointed as the new minister. The final decision will be made following discussions with central leadership.
It is reported that AK Saseendran has strongly opposed the demand for him to step down from his ministerial post. The decision is currently pending with the NCP’s national president, Sharad Pawar. At a meeting of district presidents, including leader P.C. Chako, the decision was reportedly supported.
Thomas K. Thomas has repeatedly requested that Shashindran resign from the ministerial position after two and a half years. The CPI(M) has stated that the decision should be made by the national leadership of the NCP. It is suggested that a discussion involving AK Shashindran, Thomas K. Thomas, and Sharad Pawar will take place on the 5th of this month.
In response, AK Shashindran told Twenty-Four News that no one has asked him to step down. He stated that he is unaware of any such discussions.
