Kalppatta: In Wayanad, UDF candidate Priyanka Gandhi has submitted her nomination papers for the Lok Sabha by-election. The nomination was submitted to the Wayanad Collector, D.R. Meghashree. The event was attended by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and Muslim League Chairman Pankad Sayyid Sadiqali Shihab Thangal, among others.
Following a morning roadshow where she addressed the public, Priyanka arrived at the Collectorate to submit her nomination papers. Accompanying her were her husband Robert Vadra and their son Raihan. Priyanka submitted four sets of nomination papers.
Sathyan Mokeri from the CPI is the Left Front candidate for Wayanad. Annie Raj, who previously contested against Rahul Gandhi, has already stated that she will not be contesting this time. Navya Haridas is the BJP candidate for the election.
