Seaplane Lands in Kochi, Boosting Kerala’s Tourism Aspirations

Kochi: A seaplane took off from Kochi today, giving a significant boost to Kerala’s tourism dreams. The seaplane, which departed from Kochi International Airport at 3:13 PM, landed at the Kochi Bolgatty Marina at 3:28 PM.

The seaplane had earlier departed from Vijayawada at 11:00 AM and reached Kochi Airport at 2:30 PM. After refueling, it set off for Bolgatty. The aircraft made three low passes before landing at the marina.

The seaplane, a 17-seater model from the Canadian company De Havilland, was piloted by Canadian nationals Daniel Montgomery and Rodger Bridger. The crew included Yogesh Garg, Sandeep Das, Syed Kamran Hussain, and Mohan Singh. G. Manu, the Director of Kochi International Airport, was also on board.

Upon landing at the marina, the cabin crew was warmly welcomed by Tourism Secretary K. Biju, Aviation Secretary Biju Prabhakar, District Collector N.S.K. Umesh, and other officials.
