Palakkad: Five young individuals lost their lives in a road accident on the Palakkad-Kozhikode National Highway near Kalladikode Ayyappankavu. The incident occurred around 11:30 PM last night. A car traveling towards Kozhikode collided with a lorry that was heading from Mannarkkad to Palakkad. There were five people in the car. Three of them died on the spot, while two others were rushed to the district hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries in the emergency department. The deceased have been identified as K.K. Vijesh (35) from Kizhummuri, Mannanthara, Vishnu (29) from Mannanthara Thottam, Ramesh (31) from Veendappara, and Muhammad Afsal (17) from Manikassery Estate Stop. It took an hour and a half after the accident to identify the deceased.
