Indian Hockey Team Receives Heroic Welcome in Delhi

 New Delhi: The second team of the Indian hockey squad, which won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, has returned to the country. The team arrived after the closing ceremonies of the Olympics. At the New Delhi International Airport, PR Sreejesh and the team received a warm welcome inside and outside the airport. The players’ families also arrived at the airport to greet the hockey team.

A large crowd had gathered at the Delhi airport to see the bronze medalists from the Paris Olympics. On Wednesday, the Hockey Federation will host an official reception for the Indian stars. The first hockey team group had already returned to the country on Saturday. Some players had stayed in Paris for the closing ceremonies. During the closing ceremony, Sreejesh was seen carrying the Indian flag along with shooter Manu Bhaker.

Indian player Sumit Valmiki told the media that the country is celebrating the hockey team’s victory. “We now realize the love India has for us. We can continue to play even better. P.R. Sreejesh delivered an outstanding performance in the Olympics. We won the bronze because of him,” Sumit Valmiki stated.
