Paris: Indian hockey star P.R. Sreejesh, celebrated as one of the best goalkeepers in Indian hockey history, has announced his retirement following the Olympics. With just hours remaining before the Paris Olympics come to a close, Sreejesh has shared a noteworthy photo of himself.
The image shows Sreejesh standing in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, posing with his bronze medal while dressed in traditional attire. He posted the photo on his Instagram account, accompanied by a caption featuring the popular dialogue “Ada Mone…” from the hit movie “Aavasham.”
The post has garnered numerous comments from fans. The Indian Olympic Association has announced that Sreejesh will have the honor of carrying the Indian flag during the closing ceremony of the Olympics. Wrestler Manu Bhaker will also be present alongside Sreejesh.
India has won a total of six medals at the Olympics this year, including one silver and five bronze. India ranks 71st in the Paris Olympics, compared to 48th place in the previous Tokyo Olympics.
Paris has prepared a grand closing ceremony for the Olympics. The closing ceremony will begin at 12:30 PM Indian time on Monday and will take place at the Stade de France in Paris. Following the parade of nations, the Olympic flag will be handed over to Los Angeles, the host city for the 2028 Olympics.
