The tragic fatal fire in a Kuwaiti flat that emerged from whichever the source, killing as many as 48 human beings in deep slumber, having a tour from all the stress and strains of pragmatic life, should necessarily be an eye opener for the administrative wings of any hierarchy that hold the responsibility for the security of the people in the least when they were not as alert as while being awake.
The spirit of saying this emanates from the empathetic and deepest feelings of mine as many others have towards the most bereaved kith and kins of the victimised.
The immediate reactions and benevolent declaration of the offer of ex-gratia in terms of money from the governments, either from the center or the state, is a temporary escapism from its delegatory attitude and moving ahead to get away. In fact, who are the real culprits to acknowledge their fault, regardless of their ruling terrain parameters? Is it the owner of the flat the government authorities or the employees who lived there? or the insensitiveness of the general public?
Doubtlessly, catastrophes are natural in the universe. Still, this fatal incident cannot be viewed from that perspective as it is man-made havoc that is an anti-episode to natural calamities.
The helplessness of those who suffer the pain of the sudden, unimaginable departure of their nearest and dearest one, who was their hope in every aspect, is inexplicably unbearable.
Therefore, let us put our heads together to consider this “arson” and the valuable human lives it burnt out as a warning to put serious thought, into finding an appropriate solution to fix the imminent dangers, that still threaten us in myriad ways!
