Delhi: Polling for the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections is in progress. Good turnout has been recorded in the first hours of polling in 57 constituencies. According to the figures of the Election Commission till 9 am, 11.31 percent polling has been recorded. Himachal Pradesh is leading in polling percentage with 14.35 percent. Punjab has the lowest voter turnout at 9.64 percent.

After 80 days of campaigning, polling will end today in 57 seats across eight states and Union Territories. The 2024 election also has the distinction of being the second longest parliamentary election after the first Lok Sabha election in 1951-’52. Today, the verdict will be written in constituencies including Varanasi where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is contesting.
After the polls close, all eyes will be on the exit polls and the final results that will come out on June 4. Polling in 13 seats in Punjab and four seats in Himachal Pradesh will be completed in one go with the last phase. Other states going to the polls are Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal, where polls were held in seven phases, and Jharkhand and Odisha, where assembly elections are held simultaneously. 904 candidates are in the fray in the final phase of the election.
