Ajit Pawar Reveals Gautam Adani Behind BJP-NCP Alliance in Maharashtra, Sparks Controversy

Date:

Mumbai: Ajit Pawar has revealed that the mastermind behind the alliance between BJP and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) in Maharashtra was industrialist Gautam Adani. He disclosed this in an interview with a private channel. The revelation was about the events that took place when Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar as Deputy Chief Minister.

Ajit Pawar clarified that key figures such as Amit Shah, Praful Patel, and Devendra Fadnavis were present in that meeting. He further stated that Sharad Pawar was also aware of the meeting, but later he withdrew from the alliance. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Adani Group denied Ajit Pawar’s claims.

Ajit Pawar’s revelation during the election period has sparked a new controversy in Maharashtra. The Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) has condemned the involvement of a businessman as a middleman to bring BJP to power, calling it undemocratic. Congress has yet to respond to the matter.

On the other hand, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Supriya Sule stated that she was unaware of such a meeting. BJP sources clarified that the meeting Ajit Pawar referred to took place in 2017.
