Case to be Filed Against P.V. Anwar for Violating Election Code

Date:

Thrissur: In Chelakkara, the police have been directed to file a case against P.V. Anwar for violating the restrictions and holding a press conference. The District Collector of Thrissur, Arjun Pandiyan, has instructed the Returning Officer to take action. The action is based on the violation of the Election Code of Conduct. It has been found that P.V. Anwar held the press conference despite being issued a notice not to do so.

P.V. Anwar accused the police of preventing his press conference on behalf of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He asked, “Why is Pinarayi afraid?” during the press conference. He also stated, “The code does not prohibit conducting a campaign today. Why is there a conflict over some trivial issue from the Congress?”

Anwar also raised questions about the money received from Cheruthuruthy, asking whose money it was and who was responsible for it. He questioned whether someone had an official duty there. He alleged that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) was distributing money in the colonies, hidden inside election slips, to influence voters. He claimed that money and liquor were being used to secure votes.
