ED Launches Investigation Against Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah in Mysuru Land Deal Case

Date:

Bengaluru: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched an investigation against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with the Mysuru urban development land deal case. This action comes after a Lokayukta investigation. The case has been filed against four individuals, including the Chief Minister and his wife, B.M. Parvati. Previously, the Lokayukta police had registered a case against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as the first accused based on allegations of corruption in the land deal. The action was taken following a complaint from a social worker who claimed that false documents were used to acquire the land, as directed by a special court for public representatives.

Parvati and her brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy are the second and third accused, respectively. The High Court recently ruled that an investigation could be conducted against the Chief Minister under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The allegations state that irregularities amounting to ₹55.8 crores in the allocation of 14 sites to Parvati by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
