Thiruvananthapuram: The First Lady IPS officer from Kerala and former DGP R. Sreelakha has joined the BJP. She received her membership from BJP state president K. Surendran at her residence in Eeshwaravilasam, Thiruvananthapuram. Sreelakha stated that she decided to join the BJP after three weeks of contemplation. She views this as an opportunity to continue serving. Regarding her entry into electoral politics, she mentioned that she is not commenting at this time.
Sreelakha also mentioned that for a long time, central and state leaders of the BJP had been urging her to join the party. She decided to join the BJP because she liked the party. Sreelakha retired two years ago while serving as the Director of Fire and Rescue Services. Previously, DGP T.P. Senkumar had also collaborated with the BJP.
