Thiruvananthapuram: The demand for Mukesh’s resignation has intensified following the case filed against him based on the actress’s complaint. However, LDF convenor E.P. Jayarajan has not accepted the demand for Mukesh’s resignation. Jayarajan questioned why two Congress MLAs did not resign in similar cases. He told the media that filing a case against Mukesh was a moral stance. The government has taken a historic step towards protecting women, including the formation of a special investigation team. The government has no favoritism in this matter, and no special protection will be provided to anyone; everything will be watched and acted upon, Jayarajan added. Meanwhile, M.A. Baby stated that the party and the LDF would discuss the matter and take an appropriate decision regarding Mukesh. He pointed out that some MPs from Kerala faced similar allegations in the Lok Sabha, but no action was taken against them, unlike the action taken against the Kollam MLA.
The case against actor and MLA Mukesh was filed based on an actress’s sexual harassment complaint. The Maradu police have registered the case under non-bailable sections. The actress alleged that Mukesh had committed sexual assault.
