KPCC President K. Sudhakaran Responds to E.P. Jayarajan’s Removal as LDF Convenor

Date:

Thiruvananthapuram: Following E.P. Jayarajan’s removal from the position of LDF Convenor, KPCC President K. Sudhakaran has made a statement. Sudhakaran criticized Jayarajan, alleging that his meeting with BJP leader Prakash Javadekar was on behalf of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He accused the CPM of placing Jayarajan in a defensive position to save face when the truth was exposed.

Sudhakaran mentioned that it is not up to him but the party to decide on inviting Jayarajan to Congress. “Jayarajan had already made his political stance clear, which I had mentioned to the media. I didn’t say that Jayarajan met Prakash Javadekar for Jayarajan’s sake; it was not for his benefit. Everything—meeting and trying to exert influence—was on behalf of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. That’s why he is out today. Otherwise, he would be in jail just like his private secretary, given the number of cases against him and the number of charges he should face. Jayarajan’s meetings with Javadekar were a form of ‘liaison work’ to avoid punishment. The CPM is now experiencing the benefit of that,” Sudhakaran said.

He accused the CPM of trying to save face when their lies were exposed, which led to Jayarajan being placed in a defensive role. Sudhakaran stated that there is no further comment on this internal CPM matter and questioned if there is another Chief Minister in the country facing as many corruption cases as Pinarayi Vijayan. He also pointed out that the BJP gained votes in Thrissur, which he attributed to the results of the “liaison work.” He concluded by noting that Jayarajan had threatened to reveal all of this information to the public.
