Thiruvananthapuram: BJP State President K. Surendran has stated that the recent revelations in the Kodakara hawala case are nothing more than an election stunt. He claimed that Thirur Satheesh has only come forward now because of the upcoming elections and demanded an investigation into who he is currently associated with. Surendran alleged a conspiracy behind the current discussions regarding the case and accused a PR agency working for the UDF candidate in Palakkad of being behind the allegations.
Surendran noted that both LDF and UDF have come forward with serious accusations. He pointed out that the office secretary who raised the allegations was removed two years ago. He expressed confidence that the BJP will win in both Palakkad and Alathur, suggesting that the new allegations have surfaced only because of their strong position. He stated, “We are contesting against the INDIA alliance. LDF and UDF are competing as one coalition.”
He emphasized that there is significant anti-government sentiment in the state and remarked that the opposition has so far failed to challenge the government effectively. He added that this election is crucial for assessing the actions of a subordinate group led by an opposition leader who is aiding the government. Surendran also highlighted the serious implications of the intervention by the Kannur Collector in Naveen Babu’s case, claiming that the statement given by the Collector was not voluntary. He alleged that the Collector altered his previous statement only after communicating with both the Chief Minister and the Revenue Minister, asserting that the Collector has connections with the CPI(M).
