P.V. Anwar Faces Police Case for Alleged Phone Tapping and Inciting Unrest

Kottayam: Police have filed a case against P.V. Anwar for allegedly tapping the phones of senior officials and inciting unrest in society. The case was registered by Kottayam Karukachal police based on a complaint from a resident of Nedukunnam, Kottayam. The investigation will be handed over to a special team. The allegations include phone tapping of police officials in a manner that jeopardizes public safety and attempts to incite riots through media dissemination.

Following the filing of the case, P.V. Anwar responded by saying, “Let them put me in jail; we’ll see.” He added that he had previously mentioned that a case would be filed against him and that he would provide more details at a meeting in Nilambur.

During attempts to seek a response from Anwar, journalists faced an assault. Some individuals present at the scene obstructed reporters trying to interview him. The assault targeted Hatif Muhammad, a reporter for Asianet News, and Saitalavi, a local journalist from Mannarkkad
