Malappuram: Nilambur MLA P.V. Anwar will announce a new party on Sunday. The party is reportedly named the Democratic Movement of Kerala (DMK). The announcement will take place in Manjeri on Sunday. At the same time, there are indications that P.V. Anwar, who has had differences with the CPI(M), may join the DMK front. A significant announcement is expected during the public meeting scheduled for Sunday evening.
Anwar recently visited Chennai to meet with DMK leaders, and photos of him with leaders like Senthil Balaji have surfaced. There are also reports that Anwar views the DMK as an effective coalition to counter the BJP and has discussed forming the party and collaborating with the coalition. However, Anwar has not yet commented on joining the coalition. As part of this, Anwar is set to meet with DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today. He sent a letter to Stalin requesting that the party be recognized as an ally of the DMK.
Before the meeting with Stalin, Anwar held discussions with Minister Senthil Balaji and DMK Rajya Sabha MP Abdullah. During these discussions, Anwar reportedly requested that a senior DMK leader be sent as an observer for the party announcement event in Manjeri. Anwar’s son, Rizwan, is also accompanying him in Chennai.
