Sabarimala: Only Online Bookings Allowed for Darshan This Year

Date:

Thiruvananthapuram: This time, the decision has been made to allow only online bookings for Sabarimala. A maximum of 80,000 people will be provided facilities for darshan each day. This important decision was made during a review meeting on the preparations for the Sabarimala Mandala-Makaravilakku Mahotsavam, chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The virtual queue booking will also provide an opportunity to select travel routes at the same time, allowing pilgrims to choose less crowded paths. Facilities will be arranged for devotees on the Kanana path as well. If vehicles need to be regulated during busy times, the necessary infrastructure will be established in identified locations.

Additional parking facilities are being set up in Nilakkal and Erumeli. Maintenance work on the roads and parking grounds leading to Sabarimala will be completed promptly. Health checks will be conducted for the members of the sanctity team, and necessary training will be ensured. Renovations of the Shabari Guest House will be completed by the 31st of this month, while renovations of the Pranavam Guest House have already been finished.

The doors of the Sabarimala temple will open on November 15 this year. The Mandala Puja will take place on December 26. The temple will reopen for the Makaravilakku festival on the 30th. Makaravilakku will be on January 14, 2025.
