Thiruvananthapuram: In the CMRL Exalogic case, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter, Veena Vijayan, has provided her statement. The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) recorded her testimony last Wednesday in Chennai. Arun Prasad, an official from the SFIO, collected information from Veena.
The statement comes ten months after the case was registered in January, and it alleges that Veena’s company, Exalogic, received ₹1.72 crore per month from CMRL for services that were not provided. Previously, the SFIO had conducted investigations regarding the case at the KSIDC (Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation) office and CMRL.
The central government has granted an eight-month deadline to complete the investigation, and questioning of Veena has occurred as the deadline approaches. The Interim Settlement Board of the Central Board of Direct Taxes had found that CMRL had transferred a substantial amount.
