Kozhikode: Following the Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, Kerala is set to receive its fourth Vande Bharat train. The new semi-high-speed train service will extend from Goa to Kerala. The existing Vande Bharat Express, which currently operates on the Madgaon-Mangaluru route, will be extended to Kozhikode. MP P.T. Usha has stated that the Vande Bharat service is expected to become operational within the next month.
The extension to Kerala has been made in response to the demands of the Goan Malayali community. MP P.T. Usha mentioned that the extension is under active consideration by the central authorities. Central Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, in a recent meeting, assured that the central government has adopted a fully supportive stance towards the request.
