Kochi: Actor Bala has been granted bail. The Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court has allowed bail with conditions, advising that no references to the complainant should be made in the media.
“There’s no pain in being arrested or appearing in court; I am upset that my own blood has turned against me,” Bala responded after receiving bail. He stated, “I will not say anything further against them.”
Bala’s lawyer, Fathima Siddique, noted that the court’s main directive was not to upload videos related to the complainant or his daughter on social media. She also mentioned that the court instructed Bala to cooperate with the investigating officers. Bala was arrested based on complaints from his ex-wife, and he was taken into custody by the Kadavanthra police. His managers Rajesh and Ananthakrishnan were also arrested. The arrest occurred early in the morning at Bala’s house in Pallavivattom and was recorded at the police station. Charges included those related to the humiliation of women.
Meanwhile, Bala expressed confusion over his arrest, stating he had not spoken against his ex-wife or daughter for three weeks. He commented while being taken for a medical examination, saying he did not understand the reason for his arrest. According to the Juvenile Justice Act, the charges against him fell under the Non-Bailable Offense.
His lawyer stated they would approach the High Court to dismiss the case. The disputes between Bala and his ex-wife have been widely reported in the news and on social media over the past few years.
A video shared by their daughter on social media is said to have escalated the conflicts. The daughter mentioned she had no interest in seeing or talking to Bala, which led to his response on social media. These issues ultimately resulted in Bala’s arrest.
