Nagpur: The Central Ministry of Home Affairs has increased the security for RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. His security level has been upgraded from Z+ to Advanced Security Liaison (ASL). This level of security is similar to that provided to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The decision to enhance Bhagwat’s security to ASL was made following a recent security review. The move also takes into account his visits to states governed by parties other than the BJP and threats from extremist Islamic organizations. The central government has informed all state governments and union territories about this increased security.
Previously, Bhagwat’s security was managed under the Z+ category, which included CISF guards. The Advanced Security Liaison (ASL) provides multi-layered security and involves coordination with local agencies such as district administration, police, and health departments, in addition to other central agencies. Specialized helicopters will be used for his travel, and security forces will arrive at the visit location several days in advance to assess the situation before granting permission.
