New Delhi: Former LDF Convenor E. P. Jayarajan met with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Kerala House. Jayarajan told the media that it was a routine meeting and that he had seen the Chief Minister the previous day as well. He mentioned that he could not disclose what was discussed with the Chief Minister, as political matters are to be discussed on the appropriate platforms. Jayarajan added that he often visits the Chief Minister at his residence in Thiruvananthapuram whenever he has time.
After being removed from the position of LDF Convenor, Jayarajan had been somewhat isolated from party leaders. He had been absent from the CPI(M) state secretariat meetings and the commemoration meeting of Chadayam Govindan.
The decision to remove Jayarajan from the Convenor position was made during a CPI(M) state secretariat meeting in Thiruvananthapuram. Reports indicated that the party’s action was a result of Jayarajan’s meeting with BJP leader Prakash Javadekar during the Lok Sabha elections.
Jayrajan’s meeting with BJP leader Prakash Javadekar in the presence of middleman Nandakumar had caused a significant controversy. Jayarajan confirmed the meeting, stating that interacting with various leaders is part of political activity. He responded that he had met Javadekar as part of his political work. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, among others, had publicly criticized Jayarajan’s actions.
