Thiruvananthapuram: An investigation report by the Land Revenue Joint Commissioner has dismissed allegations made by former District Panchayat President P.P. Divya regarding the death of former ADM Naveen Babu. The report states that there is no evidence of Naveen Babu accepting bribes, nor was there a delay in processing the file related to the issuance of an NOC for a petrol pump. These findings were presented in the report by Land Revenue Joint Commissioner A. Geetha, which has been submitted to the Principal Secretary of Revenue.
The report indicates that no one has provided evidence that Naveen Babu accepted bribes, and there are no testimonies supporting the allegations. It also clarifies that the claim of a delay in issuing the NOC is incorrect, noting that the file was with the ADM for only six days and that he committed no wrongdoing.
Meanwhile, serious allegations have been made against Divya in a pre-arrest bail application, where the prosecution claims that Divya issued a clear threat during a travel clearance meeting. The prosecution cited a statement by Divya that she would meet within two days, asserting that she had committed an act of intimidation against Naveen Babu. K. Ajith Kumar, the government pleader representing the prosecution, questioned what Divya would say about Naveen Babu’s family while discussing her own.
Divya’s lawyer, K. Vishwan, argued in court that there was no intent to demean Naveen Babu, emphasizing that the remarks aimed to highlight the fight against corruption. The Principal Sessions Court in Thalassery is scheduled to deliver its ruling on Divya’s pre-arrest bail application on the 29th of this month.
