Lokesh was on his way to visit his wife in Bentonville, while Darshini Vasudevan, a student at the University of Texas, was going to see her uncle. Aryan Raghunath and Farooq Sheikh were from Hyderabad, and Darshini Vasudevan was from Tamil Nadu.
The accident occurred when a truck, traveling at high speed, collided with their car from behind, causing it to catch fire immediately. Since the bodies were completely burned, information from the carpooling app was crucial in identifying the victims involved in the accident.
